Another Nigerian set new Commonwealth Games record, strikes second gold in Weightlifting

Another Nigerian athlete Folashade Lawal Rafiatu on Sunday won second gold medal for the country at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

In claiming the victory, Rafiatu set a new Commonwealth record with 206KG in the Women’s 59KG event.

Nigeria’s first gold at the games was won by Adijat Adenike Olarinoye on Saturday.

Adijat competed in the women’s 55kg. She lifted 92kg in the snatch, and 111kg in clean & jerk, for a total of 203kg.
