The Princess (2022): Movie Review

The Princess (2022): Movie Review

Plot: Bow to no one.

A beautiful, strong-willed young royal refuses to wed the cruel sociopath to whom she is betrothed and is kidnapped and locked in a remote tower of her father’s castle. With her scorned, vindictive suitor intent on taking her father’s throne, the princess must protect her family and save the kingdom.

Review: The princess’ mission is to save her family from the tyrannical and megalomaniac prince Julius but she has to make her way down from the Tower through a sea of savage soldiers. Joey King stars as the titular character, while Dominic Cooper and Veronica Ngo play supporting roles.

Start off by saying that the first few minutes are really quite stunning. The prelude to King’s Princess is filled with anticipation and a tingling feeling of what’s to come. She battles the two men while still in chains, and this pattern continues for the majority of the movie.

She then dives under the ocean to conceal herself while a tall, mountain-like knight does his duties. She sneaks through the halls and discovers Julius’ true intentions among the looting, fighting, and turmoil. After that, “The Princess” on Hulu plods along in a straight line with Kiet surprising finding inventive ways to portray the conflicts while maintaining interest. The charm lasts until the very end, when it frustratingly disappears.

The Princess is supposed to serve as a showcase for King’s amazing talents to perform the most daring maneuvers that even the most seasoned professionals would find difficult. According to the thesis statement, it is a result of the “convention flipping on their heads” and redefining the cultural representation of a princess.

HITS: The great use of space and men ensures we are not bored to death.

FLOPS: The writing lacks any depth and fails to add value to the robust work the stunt department pulls off. They are so underdeveloped, you’d think that the screenplay remained incomplete.
