Reality Progressive Vanguard has called out their party, the Osun All Progressive congress, APC for the defeat recorded on Saturday’s July 16th, gubernatorial election in the state.

In a featured text, jointly signed by the Captain and secretary respectively, Ibraheem Oyekunle, Tobiloba Famurewa, and sent to Voice Air, the group highlighted the architect of the downfall.

Below is the statement, unedited:

OSUN APC: THE ARCHITECT OF OUR DOWNFALL.

A house divided against itself will never stand. In politics, every individual is significant in determining the victory and failure of political party. Party structure needs people to facilitate its established objective of winning political contests. In Osun APC, we all imparted our failure in last Saturday’s Governorship Election.

APC is a party created with democratic ideals and progressive motives. The central focus of our party features peace and progress for the masses regardless of race, religion and political affiliation. And it’s of no doubt people have going to twelve years been benefiting APC masses- based governmental policies and programs.

We lost last Election on our high-handedness and over reliance on the political office holders. It’s not all office holders have time to work on party structure while undergoing their official and statutory office assignments. Many party leaders that are charged with party works including Party Meetings, Reconcilation matters, Defection resolves among others were ineffectual in discharging their duties. Office holders sedomly comes home to Integrate with their constituents and investigate their challenges and prospects. People have seen themselves as downtrodden masses who have no voice in our operations.

We would recall various means of interaction with masses employed by our past governors starting from ‘LÁBÉ ODÁN’ during Chief Bisi Akande’s governorship era, ”BÍNÚ KOMÍ” during Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola’s reign, “GBA’NGBA DEKÙN” and ” OGBENI TILL DAY BREAK” during Mr. Aregbesola’s reign. All forms of these programs which allow people to voice their opinions about government systems and policies were given no consideration by the current administration and it’s a major part of what eventuated APC downfall. Peoples voice about government of the day gives direction on the area where people are affected and need immediate intervention.

Our party in the last three and half years has been giving little regards for party members. Members of the party are the strength that uphold party’s continous existence and possibilities of winning elections. Our office holders are not generous enough to people. Some of our members has overtime claiming that it’s better we are not in power than the current encounter that we’re suffering while in government. Party members expect glad hand of office holders during RAMADAN, CHRISMAS, NEW YEAR AND ILEYA festivals. Failure of our party elders to fulfil the needs of party faithfuls during these periods affected us too. House of Representative members, Senators and House of Assembly members are not supportive to our partymen and women.

Top members are valuable APC. Their dissociation led to to this ignominous Waterloo we found ourselves. Their neglegence throughout the electioneering processes of the last Governorship Election ingnited them to work out of the instructions of Aregbesola. Some of the TOP members that voted APC, did that just to avoid being addressed as opposition if APC lose. We need to reunite and bring them back to party as our full-fledged members.

Imposition is another factors that’s noticeable as one of the causes of APC downfall. Our party do not necessary review and considerate peoples’ opinion in choosing candidate for Election. We choosed base on party leaders’ influence without bothering the aftermath.
