Ex-acting Chairman Ifedore NULGE, Papire Femi Reuben Ogungbotemi Bows Out Of Service

It was encomiums galore yesterday, Monday July 4, 2022 as the former acting Chairman (2015) of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Ifedore local government, Ondo state, Comrade Femi Reuben Ogungbotemi Papire bowed out of the government public service.

Monday was the day, the General Secretary of Ondo state Artisan(2010 – 2022), Femi Papire would never forget as accolades and eulogies were poured on him by members of the Artisans and leaders of NULGE in the council, and family as they paid homage to him.

Indeed, the Idanre-born, who started his journey from Idanre/Ifedore local government and former vice chairman of Ifedore NULGE (2012-2015) was ushered out of service in a grand style, as thousands of civil servants thronged his office to catch a glimpse of him before he finally bowed out of office.

“A Public Servant with an uncommon welfarist approach, adding that while in service, Papire was a father and friend to all and adversary to none.

According to him, the former vice chairman of Ifedore NULGE, spear-headed many initiatives that sought to strengthen the bond of unity among public servants and he made tremendous contributions to the union by way of negotiations and harmonization in times of misunderstanding in the service.

He has helped to restore the glory of the works department in their unique ways.

“He is greatest strength was his disarming humility and courtesy to all who encountered him, including his family, He got so many things done for the council by putting himself last. It is a character strength that is most ideal and worthy of emulation for every public servant if we must remain true to our mandate as servants of the people, member of NULGE said.

Member of Ondo state Artisans added: He was never one to wear the authority or privilege of his office on his sleeve and in spite of how hard myself and members of the Council pushed him, he remained true to his calling as a quintessential leader of the public service, whose brief was to maintain a necessary but delicate balance between the political office holders and the career public servants.

A dedicated civil Servant, we will miss you. But as much as we are reluctant to let you off, we respect your personal wish and desire to move on to greater things as destiny certainly beckons.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Comrade Bright Olorunbotemi described Femi Reuben Olorungbotemi as a humorous and humble person, pointing out that throughout his tenure, he was a great team leader who led by example.

“It has been 32 years of great service to the state. He showed a good sense of humour and service to humanity. It is my prayer that your tomorrow would be greater than your today

“One thing that stands him out is that he is a man of solid character, and I find this very impressive, he has shown great consistency, good nature

“He has been a source of inspiration to the family.”

I would urge you to remain God fearing and I wish you well in your future endeavours, Bright said.
