Breaking: Abducted Ondo travellers regain freedom after N12m ransom

The three indigenes of Ikaram Akoko in Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State who were kidnapped by some gunmen in Ayere in Kogi State have been released.

 

It was gathered that the victims who were traveling from Abuja coming for a birthday ceremony in their hometown in Ondo State were kidnapped along Ayere-Kabba Road in Kogi State last week.

 

A source however disclosed that the victims regained their freedom after the payment of N12 million ransom.

 

“Their families paid N12million ransom to secure the safe release of the abductees after series of negotiations,” the source stated.

When contacted about the development, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, however, claimed oblivious of the incident.
