The Regional Manager of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Ango Shehu, has certified the Gombe International Airport worthy, adding that it has met minimum requirements for the conduct of this year’s Hajj operations.
The NCAA Regional Manager gave this indication on Monday while briefing Governor Muhammadu Yahaya on the outcome of their follow-up assessment visit to the airport.
He said there was a significant improvement in facilities at the airport when compared to the gaps identified in their first visit.
Shehu, while intimating Yahaya, said, “the Authority will communicate in writing to the Gombe State Government on further improvements needed on the Airport for smooth and effective operations.”
On his part, the governor said his administration was committed towards improving facilities at the Gombe International Airport which has seen no intervention since its establishment.
