A senator representing Adamawa Central, Aishatu Dahiru, aka Binani, has won the Adamawa governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Mrs Dahiru defeated a former governor of Adamawa State Jibrilla Bindow and former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Nuhu Ribadu, to pick the party ticket.
Declaring the results, the chairman of the Electoral Committee, Gambo Lawan, said Aishatu Dahiru scored 430 votes to defeat her closest rival, Nuhu Ribadu, who polled 288 votes.
He said Mr Bindo came third with 103 votes, while Rep Abdulrazak Namdas came fourth with 94 votes.
The election, held at Lamido Cinema in the state capital, started at about 11:30 pm on Thursday and concluded at about 8:45 on Friday morning. CONTINUE READING…
