South-East: 2023, Gentle Man No Dey – Youths Compile List Of Corrupt Governors, Vow To Expose Them

The list of governors in South East who embezzled public funds, is presently being compiled by the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL.

Vowing that such governors will not be allowed to occupy any political office in the forthcoming election, COSEYL through a statement issued by the President-General of the coalition, Goodluck Ibem, expressed sadness over alleged high level of corruption by some governors in the region, stating that the “sharp practices of some of these governors have dragged their states backward economically and otherwise”.

Senator Dino Melaye, a senatorial hopeful candidate from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who has previously served at the national level, is being recalled by Voice Air Media. Last year, he stated that “2023, gentle man no dey”. However, there’s already a limelight of his word.

The coalition called on all citizens of the region to join hands in ensuring that no corrupt individual occupied any political office in 2023.

The statement reads, “As youth leaders of the zone mandated by our people to defend their interest at all times, we have decided to expose all corrupt governors for probe to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, ICPC and other relevant authorities saddled with the responsibility of scrutinizing public office holders.

“We are investigating our governors and any of them found wanting will not be elected or permitted to hold any other political office in the coming election. Ndigbo cannot afford to make another mistake of presenting corrupt persons for any political office again in 2023.

“We call on our people to rise up and defend our commonwealth from being embezzled and taken away by those we elected to protect our interests. The time to act is now”.
