A driver and his conductor were burnt to death after a bus went up in flames near Kwali on the Abuja-Lokoja highway.
According to Daily Trust, eyewitnesses said that the J5 bus, which was coming from the East to Abuja, entered a pothole around 4am on Wednesday and veered off the road, hitting a petrol tanker parked by the road.
“Thereafter, the bus went up in flames with both the driver and the conductor trapped. They were burnt beyond recognition,” a witness further said.
Two burnt corpses were being conveyed by the police, while sympathisers looked on.
The spokesperson of the FCT police command, DSP Adeh Josephine, could not be reached to comment on the incident as at the time of filling this report.
