Herdsmen in Ondo cut off farmer’s hand

Suspected herdsmen attacked a farmer, Idowu Bayode and cut off his hand at the agrarian town of Ikakumo, in the Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State.

 

 

 

According to PUNCH, Bayode was attacked by two herdsmen who were plucking cashew fruits on his farm without his permission.

 

 

 

A source said, “He went to his cashew plantation where he met two herdsmen plucking the cashew fruits into their sacks. They attacked him with their cutlasses when he challenged them.

“After they attacked him, he cried for help and his brother found him in a pool of blood.”

 

 

 

It was learnt that one of the attackers was arrested by the police.

 

 

 

The Ikare Divisional Police Officer, Mr Olatujoye Akinwande, who confirmed the incident said that a suspect had been arrested.
