Ife Traditionalists Protest Against Appointment Of New VC In OAU

Some traditionalists in Ile-Ife, have continued protest against the appointment of Professor Adeboye Bamire as the new Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.

Recall that Media house had reported that the protest started off last week shortly after Bamire’s appointment was announced.

The protesters have insisted that an indigene of Ile-Ife should take the position.

Earlier, the organizations from Ife land had protested the appointment of Bamire, described it as unfit as there are numerous Ile-Ife indigenes who are also fit for the position.

The traditionalists which were all dressed in white regalia stormed the campus in their numbers with banner carrying inscription of “Enough is enough”. CONTINUE READING…
