Drumming support for the emergence of Bola Tinubu as President of Nigeria in 2023, the members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state at the general public meeting by the group Held in Osogbo on Thursday, officially championed a movement called BATOC 23, BOLA ALMED TINUBU OUR CHOICE 2023, VAM News reports.

Tinubu, a leader in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was governor of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007.

Declaring their total support in his welcome address, the director general of the group, Dr Isiaka Ayodele Owoade, Director, said Asiwaju is eminently qualified for the job, and with so much goodwill across the nation.

The national chairman and convener, Ambassador Adejare Bello, who joined online via zoom, thanked everyone for the dedication and commitment shown so far, especially the turn out during Asiwaju’s visit on Royal consultation to Osun.

“As our name suggests, this group came into existence because Bola Ahmed Tinubu is Our Choice for the 2023 Presidential Election. We have also collectively resolved to use our resources both physical and financial to advance the course of enthroning our principal as the next Nigerian president.” Owoade said

“BATOC23 decision is in glaring realities of the difference Tinubu has made in people’s lives, in expanding economic opportunities, in the transformation of his state’s physical infrastructure, and in steering Nigeria into a new and progressive course

“His politics is better reflected in the context of his socio-economic objectives while he has excelled in tackling these noble tasks. Talking of resilience and consistency, BATOC23 believes Tinubu was the arrowhead of a stable, robust opposition culture for 15 years while the Peoples Democratic Party ruled at the Centre

“Our Choice in Tinubu is also because he stood true to his progressive credentials and precedence.”

Isiaka Ayodele Owoade further said, Tinubu is a perfect choice for the party.

“Tinubu is our choice because he has the competence, vision and capacity to build on the foundation of President Mohammadu Buhari

“Tinubu was behind negotiations to unite Nigeria’s opposition parties and push for electoral reforms resulting in the merger of Nigeria’s three biggest opposition parties into the All Progressives Congress party in 2014”

“He proved his mettle as Governor of Lagos State between 1999 and 2003

“He initiated the blueprint on which the growth of Lagos has rested leading to its present status as a Mega City. We have decided to support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu because in him lies the solution to Nigeria’s hydra-headed challenges of nation-building, a solution that has evaded government after government since independence in 1960

“From his service to the cause of restoring democracy during NADECO struggle to his time as Governor and ever since that he has been out of government, Asiwaju has been resolute in his vision for a great Nigeria, he said.

WHY BOLA AHMED TINUBU?

While speaking with Journalist, another stakeholder of the group, Hon. Owoeye Abiodun, said the strength of BATOC would cover the six geopolitical zones in the country.

“Our principal, Bola Ahmed Tinubu knows that BATOC is one of the formidable fora that can lead him to the Aso-Rock.

“The group is self financed. The people you see here today to the glory of God contributed money. We don’t have a godfather somewhere, we did not even go to Bola Ahmed Tinubu to collect money. We believe that we want a better Nigeria,” Abiodun said.

Another top stakeholder of BATOC23 said Tinubu is the only person that can fetch Leaders, identify somebody who would lead.

“Let me start from 1999, Tinubu can fetch Leaders, identify somebody who would lead, Nigeria has hydra-headed problems, we need someone who can identify these problems

“Since January 2022 up-to-date, Nobody has said anything to be President of Nigeria, this is the only man that has been working from nineteen to dozen, ” Tell me who’s there in the region?.”

“Fantastic! Let me take you far before Nigeria’s Independence, there was a second World War which Winston Churchill was the leader of United Kingdom, he became the prime minister, he was 65, he successfully end the war from 65 to75, you did not do common entrance when you’re in primary (3) chances are that 90% one’s going to fail, I tell you, Tinubu has done his exams , age comes with wisdom.” He said.

WHAT’S INTEREST OF THE MASSES?

Dr. Isiaka Ayodele Owoade, former special adviser to ex-governor State of Osun and DG BATOC2023, while speaking with Voice Air Media revealed that BATOC is a voluntary group focusing on Asiwaju to become President

“We gather ourself, some of us are part direct contact with Asiwaju in the past, some have benefited from him, some are students while some are followers of his political school of taught

“Now that he has declared interest to run for Presidency, we thought it’s high time to pay him back, reward him of all his efforts in the past till the present, he was instrumental to the formation of the All Progressives Congress, APC, himself and President Buhari are the two architects of the merger

“Asiwaju merit the position, he’s an accepted personality, you can see that from the last tour, having the network that cut across the country, I’m appealing everybody, particularly in the APC, let’s lead the ticket for Asiwaju

He “Asiwaju has to be President before that, one comes before the other, Isiaka Ayodele Owoade said.
