Chieftains are ecstatic over the PDP’s victory in the Plateau bye-election

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Plateau, Sunday Akuns, said the party’s victory in the Saturday by-election signified more victories in coming elections.

 

 

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Musa Agah of PDP and a lawmaker in the Plateau State House of Assembly was declared winner of Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency by-election on Sunday.

 

Akuns, who is a gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the party said a PDP government would ensure security, welfare and economic prosperity of the people.

 

 

Akuns, in a statement on Monday in Jos, said that the victory had revitalised hope and energy that the party would take over power in the state in 2023.

“It is time to close ranks, upgrade our strategies and ensure we remain very focused and highly committed toward greater achievements.

 

 

“I commend our patriotic youths, women, other critical stakeholders as well as our leaders who moved in the hot sun and dust in championing this unique victory

 

 

“We are just a few miles away from restoring the hope, dignity and confidence of the good people of Plateau,” he said.
