“I am from Ile- Agboye’s Compound, Gbongan but I grew up in Ibadan, Oyo state where I studied my primary and secondary school education. I proceeded to the University of Ibadan for Medicine & Surgery and bagged master of public health from Boston University School of Public health, United States. I am contesting under the YPP party. I love people breaking boundaries which is one of my founded team adoption. The same outstanding vision is my sight of focus to relate with the people of Osun, most especially the youths”.

“Leadership is one of my philosophies, progressive style of leadership. Leadership is the ability to achieve things within an environment by utilizing the available resources. My vision is to build a convenient environment so as to enable the people of Osun to actualize goals they have been working hard and committed to get. This includes a decent job, access to basic amenities and more. My intention is to build a space of no limitation. So, I got you covered”.

What is your plan to exclude Osun from the list of poverty states in Nigeria? Our correspondent asked.
The question also seeked for how to lower the rate of civil servant jobs as only focus source of income in Osun.

“My response to this question would be in twofold. Firstly, the mindset of the leaders must be changed. The concept of leadership may not even be in terms of resources, gender but “Courage”. The leadership ability is what can liberate Osun from the devastated situation. In a situation whereby civil servants laid all their demands on government whose pronounced achievements is executed silently even without doing nothing. The deficiency in their leadership system is what affected the people to see civil servant jobs as the only choice. To proffer a solution to this problem, a conducive environment must be provided for people to thrive by themselves”.

“Secondly, you cannot move people from poverty state unless they are ready. Another thing is to help people mentally, to think better of themselves. Instead of being use for electoral campaigns and dumb after swearing into office irrespective of the series of oaths by those selfish leaders. It is high time for people to see themselves important .This mindset and enabling environment would enable them to be sole productive without laying demands on leaders. This is what I have come to offer the people of Osun, offering them a positive thinkation for success.

How can you correct the democratic system of voting for political candidates because of money?

“My interactions with some youths showcased a liberated thinkation outside the box of voting for people because of cash, age, petty empowerments such as distribution of motorcycle, grinding machine which cannot eradicate poverty. The leaders really holds a lot of blames with the system of using people and dump them nothing afterwards only to circulate poverty within the range of stays in their offices. Poverty mindset should be erase from the mind of the people that are still limited to those peanut believe. We should be encouraging them.

“In a situation whereby a constituent politician disbursed ₦2000 each to the citizens, another went to the hospital and gave ₦500. They are doing this for personal benefits, to punish people and not for liberation. I had wanted to do this during the December’s festival but my people needs is beyond these peanut offers. We should continually encouraging the youths and show them light”.

There are gravines from people that you have a personal relationship with Omo-Oba Dotun Babayemi. How sure is it?

“Omo-Oba Dotun Babayemi is a great man and also from my community. Truth be told, there is no personal relationship than that”.

What is your plan to generate income to pay-off the outstanding sum total of ₦132.6bn debts of Osun?

“We need to create an economy. Creation of economy required few conditions to consider. There is no industry that did not need electricity and settlement. We have to be strategic unlike the people in power who will just jump into project without a plan. We need to consider what we have and how to utilize it to create our own economy including consideration of the micro economy which is the initial condition to consider”.

“For instance, health care system can be the major drive of economy. Osun can become the the state with the major health care system. Health care have the chance of bringing people to the state. We should be strategic about the health care system”.

“Tourism is another idea. We have an amazing natures and potentials that can be in use to generate income through tourism such as rivers, rocks and more. Cultural creativities and resources mostly situated in Ile-Ife can also be a tourism in Osun.

“Agriculture is not also excluded as Osun is blessed with lands”

Why did you contested under Young Progressives Party(YPP) and not the ruling party? OR
Did you have a plan to decamp later?

I prefer YPP because it would allow me make impact in the state. Most of the other parties are resistant and it would be hard to make a choice. I believe this is the party that can help me. I did not see myself moving to another party but if I have a party that give me a space to deliver whatever I want to, there may be a need to look to it. I want to create my niche and deliver my own ideology instead of finding a popular party. I do not want to be a leadership on circumstances like APC and PDP whose give oaths without fulfilling or delivering to people”.

What is your plan to curb insecurity in Osun?

“I want an exceptional result in the area of security. We need a leader with a progressive mindset. We need to fully equip our armed forces, absence of this is what birthed insecurity”.

“I am ready to create enabling environment for people to grow and be creative. Youth is one of my priorities. Youths need to be constantly challenge to be inspire so as to aspire”.

At this point, we had no reason to recall any of the state’s problems as he calmly gave clarity to all questions with a demonstrable intention.
