The Ifaki Ekiti chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has raised the alarm over the former governor billboard attacked by governor Kayode Fayemi anointing candidate, Biodun Oyebanji.
The party said the billboard erected at Ifaki Ekiti roundabout, the hometown of the former governor of the state and the aspirant of the PDP, Chief Segun Oni was destroyed on Wednesday by the supporters of the immediate past Secretary to Ekiti State Government, Bodun Oyebanji.
According to the report, the All Progressives Congress (APC) led- government came to Ifaki on Wednesday with the branded Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) bus and destroy the Segun Oni billboard and replaced it with BAO Billboard at Ifaki Roundabout.
It was gathered that BAO supporters shouting sporadically to scare the people of the community.
The party condemned the action of the State Government and his candidacy.
In a statement released after the stakeholder meeting at Ifaki Ekiti, the PDP Local Government Deputy chairman, Hon. Femi Ojo said it is an act of indiscipline and an act that is against the democratic system in Nigeria destroying another person’s property.
He said that the community will not relent and they will be going on their normal behaviour in supporting Asiwaju Segun Oni who is their Son.
He said, “the APC came to Ifaki yesterday with the branded BAO bus and destroy Asiwaju Segun billboard and replaced it with BAO Billboard at Ifaki Roundabout and after which they started shouting sporadically in other to scare the people of the community”.
“It is an act of indiscipline and an act that is against the democratic system in Nigeria destroying another person’s property.
“We call on the citizen of Ekiti state and the thugs used as the destruction of moving Ekiti forward to desist from such act as the best thing, for now, is to be looking for how to make Ekiti state great amidst another state in the country”.
