COVID back in full force: Osun, Ekiti, 2 others record zero as Nigeria reports 1424 cases: death toll now 802,510 in USA

Osun, Ekiti, Bauchi and Zamfara states on Wednesday recorded zero as Nigeria reports 1424 cases as Coronavirus back in full force

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 1424 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases in the country to 220, 020.

But out of the 220, 020 total cases, 211, 292 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 983 other patients could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 5745 total cases.

“NCDC: 1424 new cases of COVID19Nigeria: Lagos – 796, Delta – 152, FCT – 130, Edo – 129, Oyo – 82,Ondo – 39, Rivers -39, Kaduna – 15, Enugu – 9,Anambra – 8, Kwara – 7, Ogun – 7, Bayelsa – 4, Kano -4, Akwa –ibom -3; 220, 020 confirmed, 211, 292 discharged,2, 983 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

NCDC says cases will only drop if Nigerians take vaccination and adhere to guidelines like social distancing, washing of hands and wearing of face masks.

There are now 272, 227, 556 total cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 5, 330,129 patients have passed on, while 8,549,136,696 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 50, 374,543 total cases of Coronavirus pandemic, while 802, 510 patients have been killed in the United States alone, followed by India, which has documented 34, 718, 602 confirmed cases, while 476,478 patients have passed on and Brazil with 22, 201, 221 total cases of infections and 617,271 deaths.

The United Kingdom remains the 4th country most hit, with 11, 073, 455 total cases and 147, 249 total deaths and Russia which has registered 9, 927, 150 total cases, while 287,135 patient have passed on, and Turkey, which has documented 9, 102, 294 total cases of infections and 79, 696 deaths.

France is back to the 7th country most afflicted, reporting 8, 504, 074 total registered cases, while 121,968 patients have passed on, followed by Germany with 6, 690,568 total cases of infections and 107,207 deaths and Iran, which has documented 6, 162, 954 all time cases of the pandemic, while 130, 883 patients have kicked the bucket.

Argentina has come up as the 10th country most hit, now reporting 5, 371,341 total infections, while 116, 857 others have passed on and South Africa, the most afflicted country in Africa. South Africa has documented 3, 231, 031 total infections, while 90, 226 patients are no more.
