Barely few months to primary Election of the All Progressive Congress Ekiti state, Mr Olajide Omotayo Harmony has urged APC to field candidate from south as the flag bearer of the party in the declaration of mantra he named as ” Ekiti equity”.

Many Ekiti citizens have continued to react to the authenticity of the claim considering the pros and cons. An All Progressive Congress youth advocate, Olajide Omotayo has insisted that the next district to produce the state Governor is Ekiti south which he called an avenue to correct the marginalization Ekiti south district have been witnessing since the inception of Ekiti state.

He expressed his dissatisfaction about the ruling party’s choice of next candidate to succeed the present Governor John Kayode Fayemi’s administration noting that such plan is aimed at jeopardizing the chances of the party in the coming gubernatorial general Election if the rumors that one certain Government’s official who is not from Ekiti south is the Wife of the Governor’s preference for the party candidate.

We have politicians in Ekiti south that understands the nitty gritty of Ekiti people, young and mid-aged, they are ready for the next phase of the realization of more solutions to the State’s socioeconomic problems and there will not be any form of recalcitrant to duties if given opportunity. Olajide noted.

“Creation of Ekiti state is primarily and traditionally founded based on equity between all districts that constituted Ekiti state, if we are then sincere with the source of our state, if we are talking about equity and fairness, it’s not only unjust but dismal to deny Ekiti south right to produce next Governor of the state. He also said fielding a candidate from the south will give APC as the ruling party a stressless victory at the polls and a wide margin victory against other political parties in Ekiti.

Olajide said among all parties in Ekiti state. Only APC has failed to ever field a candidate from Ekiti south as her gubernatorial candidate which he called a total disrespect to Ekiti south people and could cause the people of Ekiti south with one of the largest populated districts in Ekiti state to vote and mobilize against the party if denied this time around. There’s no doubt that this enigma have remained a major challenge towards a realization of politics of equity and fairness.

“The next election is a phase of total war against imposition and other irrational acts that may want to have Ekiti south agenda held into ransom. This will be a moment for the actualization of our untiring efforts in standing against marginalization of our district. Unlike before, APC might risk losing popular votes if Ekiti south is not considered. Ekiti south people are determined to put an end to the second citizenship treatment given to them in their own state and ready to fight drastically in their large numbers against imposition of candidate from another district different from Ekiti south, He said

”Ekiti south have to choose between retardation and progress. We have better sons and daughters in APC that can govern the state and proffer developmental programs that will aid the growth of our dear state. Olajide who mentioned few from the credible Governorship materials in the district named Sen Dayo Adeyeye, Rt. Hon Femi Bamisile, Hon. Debo Ranti Ajayi, Hon. Dele Faparusi, Makinde Araoye and many others. These people he said have succeeded in so many ways, both private and public organizations.

If any of these people is chosen as the candidate of All progressives Congress, the party can be assured of victory unlike fielding a very low popular candidate who has no ambition to govern the state and will never do anything better for the state if such opportunist is Elected. We need an individual whose ambition is propelled and compelled by passion to serve, We have numerous of such personalities in Ekiti south. We have people who will make Ekiti workers welfarism a priority so as to improve on their standard of living and better way of life”—-He said

There’s no Haven of hope for some patricians to put Ekiti into their pocket. Olajide said over 21years rule, Ekiti south district have been handicapped, I believe Governor Kayode Fayemi will want to write a good history for himself and At least gives a plain level ground to all aspirants in the party or back someone from Ekiti south if he will be throwing weight. APC will have to consider balance of power among the districts and any attempt to return power to Ekiti north or central will results to a collapsed party.

”Ekiti south Agenda is a great movement already, its never a project in futility, all hands must be on deck to continuously improve on our democratic system without fail” —-Hefurther said.
