Dowen College’s management has expressed condolences to Sylvester Oromoni Jr.’s family.
VAM News reports that Oromoni was allegedly beaten to death by fellow pupils. Some of the suspects are on the run right now.
A statement on Sunday described the deceased as a “beacon of light” who was loved by all.
It admitted that the “unfortunate incident and death” requires a thorough and proper inquiry.
Dowen College said it is fully committed to a probe and assisting the authorities to get to the bottom of the tragedy.
“At this time of intense grief and suffering, emotions are raw and tensions are high.
“We pray that God, who alone knows how to comfort the sorrowing, will comfort Sylvester’s family and all those who loved and knew him.”
The statement assured parents that steps are being taken to ensure the safety and security of children and wards.
Lagos State Government shut the school last Friday pending the outcome of an investigation.
