The sleepy city of Osogbo, the Osun State capital reverberated on Sunday, November 28th when the Royal Father of the day, Tegbosun lll Olowu of Kuta, HRM Hammed Adekunle Makama Oyelude; Guest Speaker, from department of history and international studies, Osun state university, Osogbo, Professor Siyan Oyeweso; Rep Bamidele Salam, Honorable representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo federal Constituency; Dr Charles Akinola, Nollywood star Yemi Solade; Government functionaries, business entrepreneurs, community and religious leaders and other Personalities took turns to walk the red carpet and pose for shots as this year’s 6th edition, tagged “Youth Development In The Post Pandemic Era”.
The Osun Youth Ambassador’s Award organized by Youth reformers Initiative, held amid glitz and glamour in the state.
The awards ceremony, which held at the LAIM Banquet Hall, LAIM Hotel, Osogbo, indisputably shook the ancient city to its very a entertaining taste.
Engineer Raji Kehinde, Babawale Jamiu Popoola, Abimbola Amusan, Monsurat Oluwatoyin Ibraheem, Tomilayo Kafayat Badmus, Waheed Saka, Abdulazeez Ismail Abiodun and other 11 Personalities at the event, who received a special recognition award of excellence for their outstanding achievements in the state as indigenes alongside with the presence of the Chief Press secretary, Ismail Omipidan and SA to Governor Oyetola, Kehinde Ayantunji.
Also, Ayobami Agboola, Jare Tiamiyu, Adesoji Omosebi, Bright Olorungbotemi, Sola Isola, Olutunmibi Olufunke, were among the Publishers and participants that lighted up the event which was convened by Aminat Ajibola and other thirteen members of organizing committee.
Meanwhile, the high point of the event was the presentation of awards to the deserving Personalities.
According to the Convener, “OYAA is intended to showcase capacity, creativity, productivity, industry and excellence among teaming population of Osun youths who are doing great in different areas of human endeavours and will stop at nothing to ensure positive impact both within and outside the shores of the state.”
Speaking further, She said, “This should be a challenge and a motivation to do more and we do not expect any less from you all. Please continue to make our state proud, Osun is ours
“My gratitude to all our supporting agencies and individuals for making today possible,” Aminat Ajibola said.
Speaking during the event, the Royal Father of the day, Olowu of Kuta, Oba Hameed Oyelude Makama urged the youth in the state not to allow politicians to use them to cause violence
Olowu who noted the significant roles of the youth in the development of society charged the youths of Osun state not to engage in political crisis or die because of any politicians.
The monarch explained that seeing all the politicians at the event and how everyone of them has dropped all their political difference to come together and celebrate the youths of Osun.
He said “Don’t die for politicians.
“Don’t let any politician use you to cause chaos in the state like some people did during the EndSARS.
“You see the way all of them are seated here today greeting each other despite the differences in their political parties and factions.
“They are friends. You should not create enemies for yourself because of them”, Oba Hammed Adekunle Makama Oyelude said.
