#EndSARSMemorial: Security Operatives Storm Strategic Places In Osun

 

The Nigeria police force, Osun state have placed its personnel at strategic locations in Osogbo, the State capital, over the planning protest to mark the #EndSARS memorial.

 

A protest to speak for the Nigerian youths, who were allegedly killed, harassed and molested by security men at the Lekki toll plaza in Lagos.l state.

 

VAM News gathered that some youths have begun the memorial protest in Abuja and Lagos while there have been reports of arrests.

 

However, in Osun, VAM News reports that the police have taken over Jaleyemi junction, Ola-Iya, Old-Garage, Oke-Fia, and other strategic location in the town where protests were held in the past.

Meanwhile, the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Wale Olokode, who was monitoring the operatives at Old-garage, Osogbo, said there is no street protest in Osogbo.

 

In his word, “Government has given those who want to mark the EndSARS memorial a venue to do the review of the event. There have been no arrests in Osun so far and I don’t pray there will be any.”

 

A resident who spoke with our correspondent, pointed to the Police as they mount peacefully behind their car at the various junction(Jaleyemi), “it is an assurance that their intention is to protect the citizens and properties in the town and to allow people to carry out their daily activities,” Akanji said.
