Osun PDP lawmakers, stakeholders meet ahead of 2022 Governorship election

The three honorable members of the Osun state House of Assembly elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have begun a marathon meeting on the leadership of the Party.

On Sunday, the Osun PDP assembly members meet with 2019 assembly candidates under the party.

During the meeting, the lawmakers, had pleaded with other assembly candidates in 2019 in the state to put aside their political differences and work together for the 2022 elections.

The Minority leader, Hon Babajide Kofoworola who is representing Ede North State constituency, during the meeting, seek unity.

He said: “Time has come for us in PDP to put our political differences aside and fight for the Ipinle Omoluabi(Osun) where everyone will be a key stakeholder.

“A state where everyone will be free and an Osun that is economically viable for all.

“It is in an atmosphere of peace that the leaders and members of the party can forge ahead to win election in the state comes next year”, he said.

The lawmaker representing Ede South State constituency, Hon. Niran Akanfe Atidade, said the party will ensure the creation of wealth to reduce poverty level among the residents of the state.
Another lawmaker, Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi Irekandu, who is representing Obokun State constituency, said “We wish to reiterate and categorically declare our unconditional loyalty to the Party, Come rain, come sun, we will continue to stand by the party.”

Adewumi, stance on total loyalty to the Peoples Democratic party(PDP), to take over the affairs of the state comes 2022, for the progress of the residents of the state.

The seeming wranglings and peaceful atmosphere within the party, has shown that the PDP will bounce back to power in 2022, caucus said.

Caucus said, the party leaders must come together.

Well, the election has come and gone. One basic thing that was the guiding principle of the election was adherence to due process- forms were purchased, contestants were screened and elections were held.

As we all know, election in Osun is still a learning process. Whatever happened during the elections, we have accepted the outcome. We are loyal party men and our desire to contest was to bring fresh ideas, unite the party and work together. Our opponents emerged as the winner and they are here with us and we will work together towards a strong and united PDP in Osun state.

The Caucus opened up that Osun people are ready for PDP come 2022
We believe across the State people speak of the PDP with nostalgia because of its previous performance.

The Caucus, while answering a question from the newsmen, also said “the people of the state are in a better position to tell you how they fared under PDP and how they are faring under the present APC administration in the state. Go and conduct an opinion poll and you confirm what I am telling you.”

So there is no doubt that PDP will bounce back to power in Osun state come 2022, because the people now know better.

“You will agree with me that our party, the PDP won the 2018 gubernatorial election only that the ruling party used remote control from Abuja to rig the election. I can tell you that the PDP is deeply entrenched in our state.”

“During the 2018 governorship and 2019 presidential elections, residents gave the PDP a massive votes.

But our elders and leaders have been working very hard to reverse the fortunes of the state.

So we are optimistic that the PDP will take back power in the state in 2022.
“The present government has not lived up to the expectation of majority of Osun residents. The state government keeps promoting articles on newspaper with little or no impact on the lives of the people.”

“Some residents are saying that the recent kidnapping challenges in the state, is a wake up call for the ruling elites to make the state work and secure for all but reverse is the case.
Any responsible leader should draw a lesson from the insecurity. It shows things are not normal in the state.”

But the security of life and properties of travellers is a disaster! Residents are crying everyday because of the lack of the enabling environment to do business. As standard of living in the state is unfriendly.

“Osun residents are finding it difficult to survive. There is hunger and poverty. Prices of food and other basic necessities of life are beyond the reach of the people”, Caucus revealed.
