FEDPOLY OFFA, FUOYE Agree To Commence Top-Up/Conversion Programmes From HND To B.Sc

The Management of The Federal Polytechnic Offa has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Management of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State to commence HND to B.Sc Top-Up/conversion programmes in Management, Engineering, Sciences and Social Sciences related courses, VAM News has learnt.

The MOU was signed on 23rd of June, 2021 at the VC office, FUOYE after the Managements of the two institutions mutually agreed on the terms of reference and conditions governing the academic affiliations and collaborations as stated by National Universities Commission ( NUC).

Rector of The Federal Polytechnic Offa, Dr. Lateef Ademola Olatunji in his address appreciated the Management of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti for extending the tentacles of the University to collaborate with The Federal Polytechnic Offa. He added that the Polytechnic has been effectively and efficiently running affiliation programmes with other institutions without any hitch in terms of facilities, equipment and qualified personnels. He however assured FUOYE Management of maximum cooperation as the Polytechnic will not operate outside the Memorandum of Understanding signed.

According to him: ” I want to appreciate the Management of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti for this academic partnership. It is on record that we were ranked best affiliate institution by National Universities Commission (NUC) and we are at the same time on affiliation and collaboration with other institutions without any hindrance. I want to assure you that our affiliation will be successful because we have everything in place to make it a productive venture and partnership.”

The Vice Chancellor , Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina acknowledged the proactive response of the Management of The Federal Polytechnic Offa to affiliation request. He described it as a prompt response from a forward looking and serious minded Management. He however urged the Management to work in line with the Memorandum of Understanding as signed by the two institutions.

Prof Abayomi added that the University will be looking forward to more robust collaborations in the area of research and staff development with the Polytechnic.

Present at the occasion were Principal Officers of FUOYE, Director of Top-Up program and other management staff of the University.

The FEDPOFFA team also includes: Deputy Rector Academics, Arc TPL. Augustine Adama, Registrar, Mr. Adetunji Oni, The Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Femi Quadri. Other Management staff present were: Director, Directorate of Affliate Degree and Industrial Collaboration, Engr. Dr K.O. Kadiri. Director of Information, Public Relations and Protocols, Mr. Olayinka Iroye, Deputy Registrar DADPIC, Dr O.A.Oniyide, Deputy Registrar (Legal Matters), Barrister Kunle Babatunde among others.

The top-up conversion programmes of Federal University of Oye-Ekiti in affiliation with the Federal Polytechnic Offa will commence with the following programmes:
B.Sc. Accounting, B.Sc. Business Administration, B.Sc. Banking and Finance, B.Sc. Public Administration, B.Sc. Marketing.

Courses also includes: B.Eng. Computer Engineering, B.Eng. Civil Engineering, B.Eng. Electrical Electronic Engineering, B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering.

Other courses also slated for the Top-Up program includes B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Microbiology, B.Sc. Biochemistry, B.Sc. Mass Communication and B.L.S. Library & Information Science.
