Oba-Ile, a town situated in Osun state will celebrate her annual festival day which is scheduled to hold at Aderounmu Grammar School on the 29th of April, 2023, 10:00am.
Also, to mark the special; there is going to be a cultural display on Thursday, by 9am in the community as all invited dignitaries, others will be welcomed by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Prof) Adekunle Asamu Oyeyemi.
In the statement obtained by Voice Air Media, Alhaji Kabiru Adeoye will serve as the father of the day, and Mrs Mary Olanike as the mother of the day.
“Chairman of the day include; Alhaji Taofiq Oladele, Hon Laide Ajibola and the chief launchers & co-launchers are Chief (Dr) Mrs Modupeola Adeleke, and Chief (Sen) Fadeyi Olubiyi.
History has revealed that Oba-Ile is one of the oldest towns in Yoruba land. The festival of the town is coined from the emanation of the it from Ile-Ife then.
The name Oba-Ile was named after the landing of the pioneer of the town, Odulaye after he seeks advice from his friend Obedu, the fore bearer of Oduduwa when he was facing child bearing challenges.
The landing of Odulaye was as a result of the power given to him by Obedu to leave Ile-Ife if he really want to bear a child and instructed him to find a new place to reside with his family. Voice Air Media had earlier published a detailed history background of the town, you can check out for it.
As Oba-Ile is growing and increasing with their fruits in diaspora representing the town at a high level, the festival is, however, calling them back home.
