THE All Progressives Congress (APC) has named Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke as the Osun State coordinator of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign council ahead of the 2027 general elections, replacing former governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola.
The reported development comes amid Adeleke’s endorsement of Tinubu for a second term in office, despite the Osun governor’s membership of the Accord Party, a political alignment that has attracted attention ahead of the next presidential election.
The APC updated its Presidential Campaign Council, with Adeleke taking over the Osun State coordination role previously assigned to Oyetola.
The reported change would place Adeleke in a strategic position in coordinating campaign activities for Tinubu’s re-election bid in Osun, a state where political competition between the APC and other parties has remained significant.
Adeleke’s endorsement of Tinubu has also highlighted the possibility of political cooperation across party lines as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
The inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council was scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, with proceedings expected to commence at 10 a.m., according to the report.
The inauguration is expected to formally activate the council’s campaign structure and establish the framework for coordinating activities in support of Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
Reacting to this The Imole Campaign Council in a statement signed by its Director General, Senator Olalere Oyewumi , welcomes the appointment of Governor Adeleke described the appointment as well deserved, pledging that President Tinubu’s confidence in the governor’s ability to deliver Osun in the forthcoming presidential election would not be misplaced.
It assured the President that the trust reposed in the governor would be justified through unwavering commitment and a strong electoral performance.
The statement reads,” The Imole Campaign Council welcomes the appointment of Governor Adeleke as State Coordinator of PBAT Presidential Campaign Council in Osun.
“The appointment is a well deserved one. We assure the President that his confidence in the ability of Governor Adeleke to deliver Osun in the Presidential election will not be misplaced.
“We promise the President, just like Governor Adeleke had said sometimes ago that we will deliver 1.5million votes to ensure his victory in the coming Presidential election.
“Our message to the people of Osun State is to keep trusting and supporting Governor Adeleke as he continues to deliver on his campaign promises. A vote for President Tinubu is a support for Governor Adeleke”.
