Ekiti Govt Gives N578.6m BPP Contract To Firm Linked To Gov Oyebanji’s Aide

The Ekiti State Government has awarded a N578.6 million contract to Doylit Nigeria Resources Limited for the construction of an e-office and conference hall for the Bureau of Public Procurement in Ado-Ekiti.

 

Procurement records on the Ekiti State Open Contracting Portal show the contract was published on August 17, 2026, with ID ocds-6olpk7-BPP/BPP/CONO/82026/25823267. The status is listed as “Valid.”

 

An investigation by SaharaReporters found that Doylit Nigeria Resources Limited is linked to Arojo Taiwo Adebimpe, a Senior Special Assistant to Governor Biodun Oyebanji. The CAC beneficial ownership register lists Adebimpe as a director of the company.

 

Adebimpe was appointed by the governor in December 2023 as SSA in charge of the Akure Liaison Office. Doylit was incorporated in August 2022. Records show the company did not get any state contract before her appointment.

 

Two months after she assumed office, Doylit secured its first contract worth N15 million for clearing 10 hectares of land at Ijesa Isu. Contract values to the firm have since grown. On December 18, 2025, it got a N443.4 million contract for the construction of a BPP e-office and conference hall. The new N578.6 million award is also for the same BPP e-office and conference hall project in Ado-Ekiti. Available records do not state if this is a continuation, variation, or a fresh award.

 

The development raises fresh concerns about conflict of interest and transparency in Ekiti’s procurement process.

 

This is not the first time new companies have emerged as big beneficiaries. In May, SaharaReporters reported that Conjunsta Nigeria Limited, incorporated on January 30, 2026, got three contracts worth N651 million within three months for land clearing and warehouse construction in Ogbese and Ikere-Ekiti. The firm was not on the CAC beneficial ownership database at the time.

 

Earlier findings also showed contracts worth N6.668 billion were awarded via the portal to entities listed as “Permanent Secretaries.” These included a N3.3 billion Instrument Landing System for Ekiti Airport, buses, meteorological stations, airport electrification, and office spaces.

 

Efforts to reach the Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, for comments on the Doylit award and the duplication of the BPP project were not successful.
