City Boy Movement Nat’l Students Director, Asefon Inaugurates CBM Campus Ambassadors Across Kaduna Tertiary Institutions

THE National Director of the Students Wing of the City Boy Movement, Comr. Sunday Asefon Dayo, who also serves as the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on Students Engagement, on Thursday inaugurated Campus Ambassadors of the City Boy Movement across several tertiary institutions in Kaduna State.

The inauguration ceremony, held simultaneously at Kaduna Polytechnic and the Federal University of Education, Zaria, drew student leaders and stakeholders from institutions across the state. Participating institutions included Kaduna Polytechnic, Cooperative College, College of Water Resources, Kaduna University, Nuruddeen Polytechnic, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), College of Agriculture, College of Legal Studies, and the Federal University of Education, Zaria.

The newly inaugurated Ambassadors, who are bonafide students and registered Permanent Voter Card (PVC) holders, were charged with the responsibility of mobilizing their peers, promoting civic engagement, and advancing the vision and objectives of the City Boy Movement within their respective campuses.

The event was attended by key stakeholders including the Kaduna State Director of the City Boy Movement, the Dean of Students Affairs, Kaduna Polytechnic, the State Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, Borno State, the Deputy National Director of the Students Wing, the SA on Students to the Director General of the City Boy Movement, the NANS North West Coordinator, the National President of Female Students, leaders of indigent students, and Students’ Union Government (SUG) Presidents from various institutions.

In his address, Comr. Asefon conveyed the message and commitment of the National Patron, Barr. Seyi Tinubu, and the Director General, Hon. Francis Tosin Soga, to Nigerian students and youths. He reiterated their dedication to advancing student interests through meaningful engagement, opportunities, and empowerment.

A major highlight of the event was the presentation of a Letter of Appointment to a student leader from the zone, facilitated by the City Boy Movement National Director of Students Engagement. The appointment is for the position of Assistant Lecturer at the Federal College of Education, Katsina, Katsina State.

Speaking further, Comr. Asefon highlighted the commitment of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration to transforming the education sector, improving students’ welfare, and expanding access to quality education nationwide.

He urged the newly inaugurated Campus Ambassadors to demonstrate responsible, proactive, and committed leadership. He also charged them to build strong networks within their institutions, expand the membership of the City Boy Movement through constructive engagement, and uphold the ideals of unity, patriotism, and responsible leadership.

The inauguration marks a significant milestone in strengthening student participation and leadership within the City Boy Movement across the North West region.
