“Don’t Sell Your Conscience”: Voice Air Media Sensitizes Osun Electorate to Choose Competence Over Inducements

Ahead of the Saturday, August 15th, 2026 Osun State Governorship Election, Voice Air Media has called on eligible voters across the state to come out peacefully and exercise their constitutional right by voting for the candidate of their choice.

The media organization stressed that elections provide citizens with an opportunity to determine the future of their state through the ballot box, urging the electorate to make informed decisions based on competence, character, integrity, and the manifestos of the candidates rather than on financial inducements or political pressure.

Voice Air Media also warned against vote buying and vote selling, describing the practice as a serious threat to democracy and good governance. According to the organization, exchanging votes for money or gifts weakens the electoral process, undermines accountability, and deprives citizens of the quality leadership they deserve.

The organization encouraged voters not to sell their conscience for temporary benefits, reminding them that the consequences of poor electoral choices often last throughout the tenure of elected officials. Every vote, it noted, is powerful and should be used to promote accountability, development, peace, and progress.

Call for Peaceful Election

Voice Air Media urged political parties, candidates, supporters, and other stakeholders to conduct themselves peacefully before, during, and after the election. It emphasized that violence, intimidation, hate speech, and electoral malpractice have no place in a democratic society.

The organization also called on security agencies and election officials to remain professional, impartial, and committed to ensuring a free, fair, credible, and transparent electoral process that reflects the genuine will of the people.

As the countdown to the governorship election continues, Voice Air Media urged every registered voter to protect the sanctity of the ballot, reject all forms of inducement, and vote according to their convictions.
