“Father of the Nation” – Osun IPAC Lauds Tinubu Over EFCC Directive

THE Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, in Osun State has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ordering the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to vacate the court order freezing Osun State Government accounts.

In a statement issued Friday in Osogbo by its Caretaker Committee Chairman, Odesola Oluseye Titus, IPAC described the President’s directive as a clear demonstration of respect for democratic principles and the rule of law.

According to the council, the move has also strengthened public confidence in Nigeria’s democratic institutions.

Odesola praised President Tinubu for upholding the independence and professionalism of law enforcement agencies.

He quoted the President:
“I have consistently maintained that anti-corruption and law enforcement agencies must be allowed to discharge their statutory responsibilities independently, professionally, without fear or favour or political interference.”
The council described Tinubu as “the father of the nation” for taking the position.

With the August 15, 2026 Osun Governorship Election approaching, IPAC urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to take a cue from the President’s directive.

“The President’s position should guide the conduct of all agencies involved in the electoral process. INEC and security agencies must ensure their personnel discharge their duties without fear or favour. Impartiality will be essential to the conduct of the election,”_ the statement said.

IPAC further stressed that security and electoral institutions must operate independently and professionally to avoid actions that could erode public trust in the electoral process.

The council called on all stakeholders to respect voters’ rights and ensure that the election reflects the will of the people through credible voting and proper ballot counting.

“The voice of our people must be heard and their votes must count. We also advise all political stakeholders in the state to play by the rules. They should realise that power belongs to God alone,” Odesola stated.

He also urged Osun electorate to come out en masse to perform their civic duty on election day.
“Your vote will surely count by God’s grace,” he added.
