Osun to Honour Digital Trailblazers as ONMDA 2026 Announces Maiden Awards

The organizers of the Osun New Media Distinguished Awards (ONMDA) have announced plans to host the maiden edition of the awards in 2026, marking what is expected to be a major milestone in recognizing excellence and innovation within Osun State’s digital media landscape.

The initiative is designed to celebrate individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the growth and transformation of new media through creativity, professionalism, advocacy, entrepreneurship, and impactful digital engagement.

According to the organizers, ONMDA 2026 will recognize outstanding performers across various categories, including content creators, digital influencers, media professionals, online journalists, creative personalities, brands and organizations, social advocates, digital entrepreneurs, emerging innovators, and other individuals making remarkable contributions through digital platforms.

Speaking on the initiative, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Comrade Akindele Rauf, said the awards were established to promote excellence, innovation, and responsible use of digital media while encouraging the next generation of digital leaders in Osun State.

He noted that as digital platforms continue to reshape communication, governance, education, business, entertainment, and civic engagement, ONMDA aims to become the state’s premier platform for celebrating individuals and organizations driving positive change in the digital space.

The organizers also disclosed that the nomination process will be open to the public through an online nomination portal, which is expected to be unveiled soon. The public will have the opportunity to nominate deserving personalities and organizations whose contributions have impacted communities across Osun State and beyond.

Describing the initiative as more than an awards ceremony, the organizers said ONMDA represents a movement to celebrate Osun’s growing digital revolution while fostering collaboration, innovation, and professionalism among digital stakeholders.

Stakeholders, media practitioners, brands, institutions, and members of the public have been encouraged to participate in what is expected to become one of the state’s most prestigious digital media recognition platforms.
