APC Chieftain Writes Governor Aiyedatiwa Over Marginalization, Imposition in Ilara Mokin Ward 1

A top All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain in Ifedore Local Government has petitioned the Ondo State Governor, His Excellency, over alleged exclusion and “one-man imposition” in the sharing of appointments in Ilara Mokin Ward 1.

In the petition dated June 27, 2026, Hon. Sam Ademusi, Former Education Secretary and currently Assistant Public Relations Officer of APC, Ifedore LGA, said the Oke Ode Axis of the ward is being sidelined despite controlling 41% of the ward’s polling units.

‘Oke Ode Excluded Despite 7 Polling Units’

According to Ademusi, Ilara Mokin Ward 1 has 17 polling units, with Oke Ode Axis alone accounting for 7 units. He noted that the axis has consistently delivered “block votes” for the APC in past elections.

The party stakeholder said ward members were directed to submit four names for consideration in the ongoing appointments, but the list was compiled “without a single nominee from Oke Ode Axis.”

He accused Barrister Hassan Bakare of singlehandedly writing the four names without consulting other stakeholders. “Notably, the list includes Barrister Hassan Bakare himself and Mr. Ropo Olofindahunsi, who is his Personal Assistant/core group member,” the petition read.

Allegations of ‘Autocratic Control’

Ademusi further alleged a pattern of domination by Barrister Bakare, claiming he “installed the current Ward Councillor, who is also the Leader of the House, Ifedore Local Government Legislative Council,” appointed his biological son as the Councillor’s Personal Assistant, and “autocratically installed all Ward Executives without due process.”

The petitioner warned that the development is “causing disaffection, killing morale, and may cost our party dearly in Oke Ode Axis and Ifedore LGA if not urgently addressed.”

Demands for ‘All-Inclusive’ Process

Ademusi urged Governor Aiyedatiwa to reject the list submitted by Bakare, describing it as “self-serving” and not reflective of the ward’s will.

His prayers include: directing a fresh, all-inclusive nomination process to ensure Oke Ode’s representation; cautioning Barrister Bakare to “desist from further acts of imposition”; and ensuring future appointments reflect “federal character at the ward level to strengthen party unity.”

He described Oke Ode people as “peace-loving and loyal to your government,” and expressed confidence in the Governor’s “sense of justice.”

The petition was copied to the Deputy Governor, APC State Chairman, Ifedore LGA Party Chairman, two Commissioners, the member representing Ifedore in the State Assembly, the Governor’s SA on Political Matters, and the Ifedore LGA Chairman.
