Osun Killings: Ifedayo Youth Vanguard Blames APC, Calls for Justice

THE Ifedayo Youth Vanguard has strongly condemned the recent wave of violence and killings allegedly linked to political activities in Osun State, describing the development as unfortunate, disturbing, and a threat to the peace-loving people of the state.

In a statement issued on behalf of the group, the Vanguard expressed deep concern over what it described as the desperate actions of elements within the All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing the opposition party of creating tension and insecurity in a bid to destabilize the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The group noted that the people of Osun State overwhelmingly elected Governor Adeleke based on his proven commitment to good governance, transparency, and people-oriented policies, stressing that no amount of intimidation or political violence can erase the remarkable achievements recorded under his leadership.

According to the statement, “The recent killings and acts of violence being witnessed in parts of the state are condemnable and unacceptable. Politics should never be a reason for the shedding of innocent blood. We call on security agencies to conduct thorough investigations and ensure that all those responsible are brought to justice.”

The Ifedayo Youth Vanguard further urged members of the APC to embrace peaceful and democratic means of political engagement rather than resorting to actions capable of undermining public peace and security.

The group reaffirmed its unwavering support for Governor Ademola Adeleke, describing him as a leader committed to the development of Osun State and the welfare of its citizens.

“We stand firmly with Governor Adeleke and his administration in the pursuit of peace, progress, and sustainable development. The people of Osun State will not be distracted by those who seek to plunge the state into chaos for political gains,” the statement added.

The Vanguard also appealed to residents, particularly youths, to remain calm, law-abiding, and resist any attempt by political actors to use them as instruments of violence.

The group concluded by calling on security agencies to rise to their constitutional responsibilities and ensure the protection of lives and property across the state.
