Gunmen have killed one man and injured another at Sabon Gidan Kanar in the Gyon El District, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The victims, Shedrack Dalyop, 36, was k!lled while Mang Davou, 32, sustained injuries during the ambush which occurred on June 6, 2026.
Rwang Tengwong, the National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYM), said in a statement on Monday, June 8, that the incident occurred barely days after a similar attack in the same area claimed one life and left another person hospitalised.

These incidents, he said, underscored the growing insecurity confronting residents of the community.
The BYM called on Operation Enduring Peace (OPED) and other security agencies to immediately investigate the attack, arrest the perpetrators, and ensure they are brought to justice.
“The Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYM), under the leadership of Barr. Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, strongly condemns the ambush of Mr. Shedrack Dalyop, 36, of Kuru District, and Mr. Mang Davou, 32, of Gyel District, at Sabon Gidan Kanar in Gyon el District of Jos South Local Government Area,” the statement read.
“The attack resulted in the d3ath of Mr. Shedrack Dalyop, while Mr. Mang Davou sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.
“This incident occurred barely days after a similar attack in the same area that claimed one life and left another person hospitalised, underscoring the growing insecurity confronting residents of the community.”

While condoling with the family of the late Shedrack Dalyop and praying for the speedy recovery of Mr Mang Davou, the BYM urged residents to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding while security agencies take decisive action to address the worsening security situation in the area.
The association warned that it could not continue to keep quiet while innocent citizens are targeted and killed.
