2027: Rivers APC Governorship Candidate Emerges

THE All Progressives Congress (All Progressives Congress) has announced Ogundu Kingsley Chinda as its governorship candidate for Rivers State.

Chinda is widely known as a political ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

The result of the primary election was announced on Thursday evening at the party secretariat after votes were collected from wards across the 23 local government areas in Rivers State.

The screening committee said Chinda secured a total of 268,497 votes to win the ticket.

The chairman of the committee, Bitrus Kwamoti, said the exercise was conducted without violence and went well from start to finish. He added that party members followed the rules during the process and took part in an orderly manner.

Chinda’s emergence now places him as the flag bearer of the party ahead of the governorship election in Rivers State.
