THE National Democratic Congress (NDC) has decided to zone its 2027 presidential ticket to the Southern part of the country.
Buba Galadima, a political associate of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, revealed this during a television interview on Monday.
“We have zoned the party’s presidential candidature to the south. No missing votes. We’ve zoned it to the south”, he said.
He explained that the party is preparing to submit its membership register to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on May 5 or 6. He said once this is completed, the party will be ready for full political activity.
Galadima stated that the decision on zoning has already been taken within the party, placing the presidential ticket in the south.
He also said the party is moving ahead with plans to conduct primaries to choose its candidate rather than relying on a consensus arrangement at this stage.
This development comes shortly after former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and former Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, joined the NDC.
