Mammoth Crowd Turns Out As MHR Lanre Oladebo Gets Accord Membership Card In Osun

It was a carnival-like atmosphere on Saturday at Apomu Ward 9, Isokan local government area of Osun State as the lawmaker representing Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency, Lanre Oladebo was presented with his Accord membership registration card.

The presentation, which was done by the state working committee of Accord, led the Chairman, Pastor Victor Akande, was witnessed by hundreds of constituents.

Oladebo dumped the People’s Democratic Party for the Accord in February, following a protracted crisis that is rocking the party.

Receiving the membership card of his new party, the federal lawmaker expressed happiness over the mammoth crowd of his constituents who came out to join him to receive the Accord SWC.

Oladebo said, “it a beautiful day aa the state working committee of Accord led by the state chairman, came to my ward to present me with my membership card. I joined Accord on 26th February and today, it’s not only about the presentation of the card but also to sensitize our people that we have a new party.

“We’re telling our people that if we have done well, they should come and show us support and as you can see, it is a mammoth crowd.”

Speaking on the performance of Governor Ademola Adeleke, Oladebo lauded the governor for his stellar performance despite hinderance.

“As you can see, the governor has brought infrastructural face-lift to our Constituency and our people are so happy with him. That is why we have decided to follow him to Accord Party. Check every sector, our governor has performed wonderfully well in all sectors. From health to education to infrastructure and worker’s welfare, he has done so well.”

He called on the federal government to release the local government allocations to the governor, stating that withholding it is affecting the grassroots development.

“We’re using this period to appeal to the federal government to release the local government allocations to the governor. He has been carrying the burdens and we thank Govd for doing everything to support the local system. Withholding this allocation has huge effect on the people and
we are calling for its release.”

He called on his constituents to come out and register to vote.

Earlier in his address, Chairman of Accord in Osun appreciated the crowd for coming out to support the party.

“We are here in ward 9, Isokan local government to present the membership card to Hon. Lanre Oladebo and to also drive our membership registration in Isokan. We want people to comply with the Electoral Act by registering online.

Akande expresses confidence that Governor Adeleke will emerge victorious in the August 15 election, citing “brilliant performance”.

Oluranti Hamzat, Women Leader of Apomu Ward 8, also expressed strong support for Omoleye’s move and the Governor’s re-election. “Ademola Adeleke has done well, and wherever he goes to I’ll go as well, I want the people to support him,” she said.
