The Obokun Local Government Chapter of the Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association (NATA) has declared their support to the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term in office.
The endorsement was announced on Thursday, March 20, 2026, in Ibokun during a meeting with the member representing Obokun State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi, popularly known as Irekandu.
Speaking on behalf of the association, the Chairman of NATA, Obokun Chapter, Mr. Adewole Bamidele, alongside other leaders, declared their support for the governor’s re-election, citing visible development across the constituency.
Bamidele noted that Osun State has witnessed significant transformation under the Adeleke administration, particularly in Obokun Local Government Area, which informed the association’s unanimous decision.
He commended the prompt implementation of the new minimum wage by the state government, describing it as a clear demonstration of the governor’s commitment to workers’ welfare. According to him, civil servants, including relatives and clients within the community, have directly benefited from the policy.
He further stated that the payment of inherited half-salary arrears and other welfare interventions has improved living conditions and stimulated economic activities within the locality.
On infrastructure, the NATA chairman praised completed road projects in areas such as Temidire/Oke-Ita in Ibokun, as well as projects in Ilare and Imesi-Ile, noting that they have improved transportation and created a more enabling environment for businesses. He also highlighted the rehabilitation of primary healthcare centres and renovation of schools across the constituency.
He further applauded the flag-off of major road and bridge projects, including the Otan-Ile–Ilare-Ijesa–Esa-Odo road, Ibokun–Ere road, and the reconstruction of the Ilahun-Ijesa/Ere-Ijesa Bridge, expressing satisfaction with the pace of development.
Bamidele equally commended Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi for his representation and grassroots interventions, particularly in the areas of empowerment, education support, and infrastructure development.
He highlighted several initiatives of the lawmaker, including empowerment programmes, scholarship schemes, and projects such as the construction of a modern motor park for transport unions, describing him as a committed and responsive representative.
Another leader of the association, Ganiyu Mufutau said the association declared support for the Governor in order to repay his good deeds to them.
Mufutau said, “Go and tell the world that we (NATA Obokun) have decided that we’re for Ademola Adeleke. We will stand by whoever stands by us. We have our jobs but Adeleke has shown that he is for us.”
While acknowledging that some challenges still exist within communities in Obokun Local Government Area, Adeoye urged residents to sustain their support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election in order to consolidate on the gains recorded so far.
