A tragic incident has been reported in Iyana Isashi, Lagos, where an elderly woman was killed inside her home.
Â
According to her daughter, a hairstylist, she was at work in Lekki on Saturday, March 14, when a neighbour who is a nurse called to inform her that her mother had been attacked. She immediately began the journey home and also contacted her sister.
Â
Her sister arrived first and later informed her that their mother had already died.
Â
On her way back, the daughter stopped at a nearby police station, where she met members of the community who had come to report the incident. She was also shown her motherâs body.
Â
At the house, there were clear signs of a struggle. It appeared the woman had just come out of the bathroom when she was attacked. Bloodstains were seen around the compound, and the weapon believed to have been used was recovered at the scene.
Â
A male neighbour was also attacked, reportedly because he may have witnessed what happened. He was found unconscious but still alive. Evidence suggested the attacker moved from the womanâs compound into the neighbourâs home.
Â
Although no suspect has been officially confirmed, the daughter said she suspects her paternal uncle, who had allegedly threatened to kill her mother over a dispute. She also alleged that the uncleâs son, who was recently released from prison, may be involved.
