Lady calls off wedding after discovering troubling issues with fiancé

A lady has shared the emotional story of how she called off her engagement shortly before her planned wedding after discovering issues she believed made the marriage unsafe for her.

In a video posted online, she explained that problems started during the wedding planning process, which was often filled with arguments between her and her fiancé.

She said disagreements frequently arose over matters such as the number of guests, the colour theme for the ceremony, and other wedding arrangements.

According to her, her fiancé took control of most aspects of the planning, including selecting fabrics and vendors, while she went along with many of the decisions to avoid conflict.

“Almost 80 to 90 percent of the wedding planning was done by him. I allowed him to dominate everything because I did not want drama,” she said.

She explained that over time, the situation made her increasingly unhappy, adding that she often felt unable to express her opinions or ideas freely.

The woman said she kept her concerns to herself until her pastor called to check on her well-being. During one of the conversations, she eventually admitted she was not okay.

She later travelled to meet him in person, where she revealed that she had discovered what she described as “personal truths and lifestyle realities” about her fiancé that were incompatible with marriage.

With guidance from her family, pastor and trusted friends, she decided to call off the engagement despite the advanced stage of wedding preparations.

She disclosed that invitations had already been sent out, wedding outfits were ready and deposits had been made to vendors.
Although the decision was painful, she said walking away was necessary.

“Choosing yourself is not failure. Walking away from something that doesn’t feel right is not weakness, it is wisdom,” she said.
