Osun APC Slams Adeleke Over Claims Of Being Pressured By Presidency

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has faulted former state Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola’s submission that the Presidency has been putting pressure on the incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke to defect to the APC.

It would be recalled that Prince Oyinlola stated during an interview on Arise News Channel’s Prime Time Show on Sunday evening, not on Voice Air Media, that Governor Ademola once disclosed to him that he was facing pressure from the Presidency to the extent that, at a time, he had to break down in tears.

The position of Governor Adeleke as relayed by Prince Oyinlola was at variance with the witnessed development in the party whereby all the entreaties of the incumbent Governor Adeleke to defect to our party met a brick wall.

The statement credited to Adeleke as espoused by the former state Governor Oyinlola was indicative of the fact that Adeleke was brazenly telling packaged lies to the former governor in order to curry unmerited sympathy from him.

It was in the public domain how Adeleke was moving from pillar to post in order to join our party without an iota of luck.

It would not be difficult to believe that Adeleke was only overpricing himself by dropping the name of some people as putting pressure on him.

What is the business of our party if Governor Adeleke had fallen victim of some political scammers who might have fleeced him by cashing in on his ignorance by lying to him that they are working for his defection to our party?

We challenge Governor Adeleke to disclose the identities of the faceless entities that have been putting pressure on him to defect to the APC which led him to have graduated from the dancing governor to the weeping governor in the presence of the former Governor Oyinlola as the latter recalled during the television interview.

The excuse that some people have been putting pressure on the governors to defect to the APC is a mere fabrication as there has not been any report of the coercion of any governor to defect to the APC from any quarters.

Governor Adeleke’s coercion allegation as told by the former Governor Oyinlola defied logic as it only exposed Governor Adeleke of being economical with the truth.

The members of the public should confine the Governor Adeleke allegation into the dustbin of history as it lacked merit; it was unfounded and spurious.

It is preposterous for anyone to blame our party for the current debilitating plight of the PDP in Osun State in particular and the nation in general,” by Mogaji KOLA OLABISI, Osun State APC Director of Media and Information.
