Accord Cautions Osun Residents Against Giving Out NIN To APC Agents

News Update

THE Osun State Chapter of the Accord has alerted residents of the state to be vigilant and to firmly resist any attempt by agents of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to obtain their personal information, particularly their National Identification Number (NIN), under whatever guise.

In a statement on Monday, the Osun State Chairman of Accord, Pastor Victor Babalola Akande warned that the APC, having reached a dead end in its desperate and evil machinations against the people of Osun State, has now resorted to fraudulent and deceptive tactics aimed at exploiting unsuspecting citizens.

He cautioned that no genuine political party engagement, programme, or membership drive requires citizens to surrender sensitive personal data to party agents, stressing that any such request should be treated as a red flag and reported to the appropriate authorities.

The Chairman commended the good people of Osun State for their vigilance and for consistently shunning their tormentors, whose original agenda of withholding local government funds was to starve the people into submission. According to him, the same forces that deliberately impoverished communities are now attempting to return with crumbs to momentarily placate the very people they deliberately subjected to untold hardship.

He described the current attempt by the gasping Apc to harvest personal information of unsuspecting members of the public as part of a broader pattern of deception, noting that the APC wrongly assumed that prolonged punishment would break the integrity and resolve of Osun people, forcing them to abandon their principled stance and begin scrambling for evil handouts.

“There is nothing the APC has not thrown at the good people of Osun State to weaken their will and undermine their support for the people-oriented administration of His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke,” the Chairman stated. “It is therefore gratifying that Osun people have remained resilient, resolute, and unyielding in defence of their dignity and democratic choices.”

The Accord reaffirmed its commitment to issue-based politics, respect for citizens’ rights, and the protection of personal data, while urging residents to continue to reject intimidation, deception, and political fraud in all its forms.

The party further called on security agencies and relevant institutions to take note of these developments and act decisively to protect citizens from exploitation and identity-related crimes.
