INEC to rotate IVED in Ondo

THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has approved the rotation of the INEC Voter Enrolment Device (IVED) across all 203 Registration Areas (RAs) in Ondo State.

Mrs Oluwatoyin Babalola, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ondo, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Akure.

She said the first phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, conducted between August 25 and December 10, 2025, recorded 35,040 activities, including new registrations, transfers, corrections, and Permanent Voter Card (PVC) replacements.

According to Babalola, the second phase of the nationwide CVR began on January 5, 2026, aimed at addressing challenges such as long distances to registration centres and difficult terrains, ensuring all eligible voters are captured.

“The commission has approved the rotation of IVEDs across the 203 RAs within Ondo’s 18 Local Government Areas,” she said, adding that the rotation will run for 50 days, from February 2 to April 10, excluding weekends and public holidays.

She noted that a comprehensive IVED rotation schedule has been prepared to guarantee equitable coverage across the state, with details available at all LGA offices.

During the first phase, Babalola said, 18,311 new registrants were recorded, including 177 Persons With Disabilities, alongside 9,501 transfers, 2,399 corrections, 3,784 lost or damaged PVC replacements, and 1,868 old PVC collections.

She urged eligible voters, especially those in remote or underserved areas, to take advantage of the IVED rotation by visiting their nearest RA during the scheduled periods.

For inquiries, Babalola advised the public to contact their LGA INEC offices or call the help desk on 08061238464, 08034001751, or 08068958359.
