INEC opens media accreditation portal for bye-elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has opened its online media accreditation portal for the upcoming Rivers State bye-elections in Ahoada East II and Khana II constituencies.

The election is scheduled for February 21, 2026.

INEC announced on Monday via its official X handle that interested media organisations are required to apply through the portal online.

The Commission stated that the accreditation portal will close on February 8, 2026, stressing that late applications will not be considered.

The notice read, “INEC has opened the online media accreditation portal for the upcoming Rivers State bye-election in Ahoada East II and Khana II constituencies (February 21, 2026).

“All interested media organisations must apply via: imap.inecnigeria.org before the portal closes on February 8, 2026. No late applications.”
