Bamiji Clement Adesuyi Accepts APP Governorship Ticket, Pledges Victory in Osun

Candidate of the Action Peoples Party(APP) for the Osun 2026 governorship election, Bamiji Clement Adesuyi, has pledged to win the governorship race for the party, saying that Osun State must be better.

Speaking during his acceptance speech on Monday after emerging as APP flagbearer, Bamiji said the party is united and one.

He assured the members that he will not betray them.

The Osun Action Peoples Party, APP State Chairman, Oluseye Titus Odesola in his welcome address, said the process was fair, peaceful and transparent.

Barr Obed Agu, Action Peoples Party National Organising Secretary, in his goodwill message, appreciated the resilience of Osun APP.

He lamented that Nigeria is tooting towards one party system, said the APP will reject such agenda as it is devilish and against true democracy.

“We will practice democracy in Nigeria and APP has come to stay. In whatever weather we have come to stay like the elephant. We are resolute. He steadfast he string, do not shake. Tomorrow will be better.

“We will keep marching. We are not afraid of any political party in Nigeria. Most parties are divided but today APP is still standing strong. There is nothing like faction and we will never be divided.”

He said the national Chairman of the party appealed to all members of the party in the state to stand steadfast as the party will come out stronger

He also lamented the bad economy, bad roads and insecurity in Nigeria.

The governorship candidate, Bamiji Clement Adesuyi, was the sole aspirant, elected through 39 affirmation votes which was moved by party members in accordance with INEC guidelines.

Announcing the election results, the Osun APP chairman, Odesola said 39 delegates affirmed Adesuyi as their governorship candidate at the end of the voting exercise.
