Imole Accord Vanguard Vows to Deliver One Million Votes for Gov. Adeleke in 2026

News Update

OSUN: A ‎socio political group, Imole Accord Vanguard (IMAV), has been unveiled in Osun State with a pledge to mobilise massive support for the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke on the platform of the Accord Party ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

‎The group on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, during a press conference addressed by its State Coordinator, Hezekiah Oladele Bamiji, who said the organisation was established to consolidate grassroots support for Governor Adeleke following his recent defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to Accord.

‎Bamiji described the governor’s move to Accord as a natural alignment of values and development philosophy, rather than a mere political transition. He said the group would work across communities in Osun State to promote what he termed the “Imole agenda” and the ideology of the Accord Party.

‎Speaking at the briefing, Bamiji stated that the Imole Accord Vanguard is in total solidarity with Governor Adeleke and fully supports his decision to contest the 2026 election under Accord.

‎“This is not just a transition but a natural realignment of values, principles and development philosophy. With Accord, Governor Ademola Adeleke is forming a progressive alliance for sustainable development and a renewed future for Osun State” he states.

‎He added that the group’s focus would be on grassroots mobilization and strategic communication to ensure the governor’s re-election, he noted.

‎According to the statement signed, Bamiji has set a target of mobilising one million votes for Governor Adeleke before and on election day, describing the governor’s first term as deserving of continuity.

‎He listed several achievements of the Adeleke administration, including the settlement of long-standing workers’ and pensioners’ entitlements, promotion of civil servants who had been stagnant for years, and major investments in infrastructure across the state.

‎Bamiji noted that the administration has constructed over 250 kilometres of roads fitted with modern solar-powered streetlights, describing the feat as unprecedented in Osun State’s history.

‎He cited key projects such as the dualisation of Old Garage–Okefia–Lameco Road, completion of the previously abandoned Oba Adesoji Aderemi Road (Ona Baba Ona), completion of Phase Two of the Osogbo–Ikirun–Ila-Odo Road, dualisation of Akoda–Oke Gada Road, and the construction of Okefia, Lameco and Lagere flyovers in Osogbo and Ile-Ife. He also mentioned the ongoing dualisation of township roads in Ilesa, Ila and Iwo.

‎The group further highlighted achievements in healthcare and social welfare, noting that over 26,000 pensioners, 1,200 inmates and all persons living with disabilities have been enrolled in the Osun Health Insurance Scheme, alongside free surgeries for inmates with special medical cases. The administration, he said, has also renovated over 200 primary healthcare centres equipped with solar-powered facilities, an intervention that attracted a $500,000 international grant to the state.

‎In the area of debt management, Bamiji explained that the Adeleke-led government has repaid ₦65.05 billion of Osun State’s domestic debt, representing a reduction of over 43 per cent, while also settling $16.64 million of the state’s external debt within three years.

‎He added that the government has revived moribund water schemes and renovated over 200 public schools across the state, while also acquiring tractors and fire service trucks for the first time in over a decade.

‎Bamiji disclosed that discussions were ongoing with other political parties, noting that a broad coalition of groups and parties would soon adopt the Accord platform in support of Adeleke’s re-election on August 8, 2026.

‎The press conference ended with a call on Osun residents to support the Accord Party’s efforts to sustain what the group described as progressive governance in the state.
