The Senate has begun the screening of a former Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, General Christopher Musa, rtd, as the new Minister of Defence.
The screening followed Musa’s nomination by President Bola Tinubu.

If confirmed, Musa will replace a former defence minister, Mohammed Badaru, who resigned from the position.
It was recall that President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday nominated Musa as Minister of Defense.

Musa served as Chief of Defence Staff from 2023 until October 2025. He won the Colin Powell Award for Soldiering in 2012.
