Wife allegedly pours boiling water on sleeping husband

News Update

A housewife, identified simply as Seun, allegedly poured hot water mixed with pepper on her husband, Mr. Damilola Ogunsoto, while he was asleep.

Mr. Ogunsoto, who is currently receiving treatment in hospital, narrated his ordeal to newsmen on Wednesday from his hospital bed.

He said the attack happened without any prior disagreement between him and his wife.

According to him, Seun who is from Irele in Gboroye quarter had travelled to Irele, where she engaged in petty trading during the annual Eje festival, and returned home later that evening.

“After she came back, I gave her money to prepare food. I later drank garri and went to sleep. While I was asleep, she poured hot water mixed with pepper on me,” he said in pain.

Neighbors who rushed to the scene reportedly helped rescue Mr. Ogunsoto and took him to the hospital for medical attention.
