Idanre Students Union Denies Calling on State Govt, Urges Federal Lawmaker to Commence Road Rehabilitation

News Update

THE Idanre Students Union has refuted reports claiming that the union appealed to the Ondo State Government, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa to repair the deteriorating road linking parts of Idanre community.

In a statement issued jointly signed by all the union Excos on Wednesday, the union clarified that its call was not directed to the state government but to the Member representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Festus Akingbaso Fessywest.

According to the union, the federal lawmaker has access to N800 million constituency funds, and the group urged him to utilize part of the allocation to commence the rehabilitation of the affected road.

The students further alleged that the earlier statement sent to The Punch was an attempt to divert public attention away from the responsibilities of the federal representative, insisting that their appeal had been deliberately misrepresented.

They maintained that the union’s position remains consistent — that the federal lawmaker should take immediate steps toward rehabilitating the road to alleviate the hardship faced by residents and commuters in the area.
