INEC announces job vacancies for Nigerians

News Update

THE Independent National Electoral Commission has opened its online portal for the recruitment of ad-hoc staff who will work during the upcoming Anambra State governorship election.

The registration, which started on Monday, September 15, will run until October 5, 2025.

According to the electoral body, the exercise is meant for Supervisory Presiding Officers, Presiding Officers, Assistant Presiding Officers, Registration Area Center Managers, and Registration Area Technical Support staff.

Applicants are expected to be residents of Anambra, Delta, Enugu, or Imo states, except for technical staff positions that are strictly reserved for eligible INEC ICT personnel from state or headquarters offices.

The commission also stated that prospective ad-hoc staff must not belong to any political party or be seen supporting any candidate.

The eligibility criteria vary by role. Supervisory Presiding Officers will be selected from civil servants in specified ministries, departments, and agencies.

Presiding Officers and Assistant Presiding Officers will come from corps members, recent graduates, INEC staff, and qualified students of federal tertiary institutions.

Registration Area Center Managers will be appointed from staff of the schools or institutions where election activities are hosted.

Interested persons are required to submit their applications through the dedicated web portal or the official Android mobile application before the deadline.

The recruitment exercise is part of INEC’s preparations for the Anambra governorship poll, which is scheduled to hold on November 8, 2025.
