Armed Robbery Incident in Niger State leaves Four Injured

A gang of fully armed robbers attacked a hotel in Madalla, Suleja, Niger State, leaving three people injured.

It was gathered that the robbers who invaded the hotel on Sunday, September 14, 2025, fled the scene in a stolen Toyota Corolla, escaping before police operatives arrived.

The spokesperson for the State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday.

“At about 2am, a distress call was received indicating a robbery incident at a hotel in Madalla. A police patrol team attached to Madalla Division moved to the scene, but the hoodlums escaped before the team’s arrival,” he said.

The PPRO added that the robbers made away with valuables, including the vehicle.

“The hoodlums escaped with a Toyota Corolla vehicle bearing Reg. No. LRN 625 LN was stolen from the hotel, along with other items.

“Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects and recover the stolen items,” he noted.

In a similar development, the command arrested four armed robbery suspects and recovered stolen items in Suleja.

The PPRO, in a statement on Tuesday, September 16, said the robbery gang numbering about ten invaded a house, attacked the owner and carted away over seven phones, one plasma TV, solar panels, and other items.

“On September 6, 2025 at about 4am, information received at ‘B’ Div Suleja indicated that there was a robbery attack behind a filling station in Suleja. Police patrol team attached to the Div moved to the scene, the victim was found injured on the head and he was rushed to a nearby hospital, while the robbers escaped from the scene before Police arrival,” the statement read.

“The victim reported that the robbery gang numbering about ten invaded his house, attacked him, carted away over seven phones, one plasma TV, solar panels, and other items.

“The Police operatives commenced investigation through technical intelligence and four suspects were arrested in connection with the incident, who are; -Umar Abubakar 24yrs of Kaduna road -Ibrahim Lawali 18yrs of Madalla -Sirajo Musa 25yrs of Tipper garage, Madalla -Adamu Lawal 25yrs of Tipper garage, Madalla.

“Adamu Lawal was arrested with twelve ATM cards and claimed that he picked them at a waste dump, Sirajo Musa left his slippers at the scene, he returned to pick it up, he was identified and arrested.

“Ibrahim Lawal was found with two other ATM cards while Umar Abubakar was found with a cutlass and mentioned other members of the syndicate as Aminu, Mubarak, Small, Goje and Dan-acha. The plasma TV was also recovered from where it was abandoned.

“All suspects were transferred to SCID on 10th September, 2025 for further investigation. Efforts to arrest others is ongoing.”
