THE member representing Umuahia North constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Anderson Akaliro, has resigned his membership of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Akaliro declared that he would be aligning with Governor Alex Otti’s administration.
Akaliro, who was the only APC lawmaker in the Assembly, made his decision known in a resignation letter he addressed to the chairman of the APC in Umuahia North LGA.
He claimed that persistent internal crises, factional disputes and a lack of cohesive leadership within the APC were the reasons he dumped the party.
The lawmaker further alleged that he was marginalized and excluded from party activities.
The Umuahia North representative further lamented that he was not being invited to any meeting or event by the APC leadership in Abia, even as he faulted what he called continuous suspension and counter suspensions in the party.
He concluded by declaring that he would be aligning with Governor Alex Otti’s administration, which he described as “visionary and development-oriented”.
